Shopping for a Halloween Squishmallow for a kid gets a lot easier once you stop trying to find the “best” one and think about what that kid actually likes.
If Hello Kitty is already on their backpack, get Hello Kitty. If they are obsessed with Kuromi, get Kuromi. If they sleep with a pile of stuffed animals every night, a larger Sleepamallows may be a better gift than a small collectible.
If you barely know their collection at all, my safest plush pick for Halloween 2026 is the 12-inch Hello Kitty Halloween Squishmallow. Jazwares currently lists it for $19.99 and ages 3+, and the 12-inch size is big enough to feel like a real gift without taking over the room.
Here are the five Halloween Squishmallows I would actually consider, depending on who you are buying for.
1. Hello Kitty Halloween 2026 is my safest overall pick

Current price: $19.99
Size: 12 inches
Suggested age: 3+
Best for: Hello Kitty and Sanrio fans
If the kid already likes Hello Kitty, this one is easy.
The 12-inch Hello Kitty Halloween 2026 Squishmallow is an official Sanrio release sold through Jazwares. As of August 17, 2026, it is listed at $19.99 for ages 3 and up.
I like the 12-inch size for gifting. It is big enough to hug and feels more exciting to open than a tiny plush, but it is still manageable for a bed or shelf.
The Halloween design is also cute rather than scary, so it works well for younger kids or anyone who likes the softer side of Halloween.
If I knew a kid liked Hello Kitty but knew nothing else about their Squishmallows collection, this is where I would start.
2. Get Kuromi if Kuromi is already their favorite

Current price: $19.99
Size: 12 inches
Suggested age: 3+
Best for: Kuromi fans
If they already love Kuromi, do not buy Hello Kitty just because she feels like the safer choice.
Get Kuromi.
The 12-inch Kuromi Halloween 2026 Squishmallow is also an official Sanrio release from Jazwares, currently listed at $19.99 for ages 3+.
Kuromi fits Halloween naturally, but honestly, that is not the main reason I would choose her.
The main reason is that the kid already likes Kuromi.
That sounds obvious, but it is easy to shop based on which plush you think looks cutest. For a gift, the child’s favorite character should win.
3. Felize the White Ghost is better for kids who cuddle their plushes

Current price: $24.99 at Target
Format: 14-inch Sleepamallows
Dimensions: About 8 x 8 x 14 inches
Weight: About 3 pounds
Suggested age: 3+
Best for: Bedtime and cuddling
Some kids line their Squishmallows up on shelves. Others actually sleep with them every night.
For the second group, I like Felize the White Ghost Sleepamallows.
Target lists Felize at $24.99 with dimensions of about 8 x 8 x 14 inches and a weight of around 3 pounds. The suggested age is 3+.
Felize has a longer Sleepamallows shape rather than the usual round Squishmallows body, so this feels more like a plush a kid can really settle down with.
I also like that the ghost theme still says Halloween without being creepy. The flower crown keeps it very kid-friendly.
The only thing I would check first is space. This is larger and heavier than a regular small Squishmallow.
4. Blas the Purple Bat is for the kid who really loves Halloween

Current price: $24.99 at Target
Format: 14-inch Sleepamallows
Dimensions: About 8 x 8 x 14 inches
Weight: About 3 pounds
Suggested age: 3+
Best for: Kids who like bats, purple, and Halloween characters
If the kid gets excited about bats, costumes, pumpkins, and spooky decorations, Blas the Purple Bat is probably the most Halloween-looking pick here.
The Blas Purple Bat Sleepamallows is also $24.99 at Target, measures about 8 x 8 x 14 inches, weighs around 3 pounds, and is listed for ages 3+.
Between Blas and Felize, I would not overthink which one is “better.”
Felize is the cute ghost. Blas is the more obvious Halloween character.
Pick whichever sounds more like the kid you are shopping for.
And if they are a huge Kuromi fan, I would still choose Kuromi over both. Their actual favorite matters more than matching the holiday perfectly.
5. The Hello Kitty & Friends 4-pack is better for kids who like collecting

Current price: $34.99
Size: Four 5-inch plushes
Suggested age: 3+
Best for: Kids who like several Sanrio characters
The Halloween Hello Kitty & Friends 4-pack is a better fit for a kid who likes having lots of small characters rather than one big plush.
The 5-inch Halloween Hello Kitty & Friends 4-pack includes:
- Hello Kitty the Wizard
- Cinnamoroll the Vampire
- Kuromi the Skeleton
- My Melody the Wizard
The current Target listing is $34.99 and recommends the set for ages 3+. It is sold and shipped through Target by third-party seller SCS Direct Inc.
I would choose this set for a kid who already collects smaller Squishmallows, likes several Sanrio characters, or enjoys arranging them on a shelf.
I would skip it if they mainly want one big plush to hug. Four 5-inch Squishmallows and one 12-inch Squishmallow are very different gifts.
What size Squishmallow should you buy for a kid?
If you are unsure, 8 to 12 inches is usually the easiest size for a gift.
A simple way to think about it:
- 5 inches: good for collecting, small bedrooms, or kids who like lots of characters
- 8 to 12 inches: best all-around size for most gifts
- Larger sizes and Sleepamallows: better for cuddling and bedtime
I would not automatically buy the biggest one you can afford.
If their room is already full of plushes, another huge Squishmallow may be less exciting than a smaller character they really wanted.
What if they already own a lot of Squishmallows?
This is when I would stop guessing.
You do not need to memorize their whole collection. Just try to find out one or two useful things:
- their favorite character
- their favorite animal
- whether they like small or large Squishmallows
- whether they have a wishlist
- which characters they already own
If you still have no idea what they want, I would rather give them a gift card than pick a random plush and hope for the best.
Our Squishmallows gift card guide covers the official Jazwares e-gift card, which currently comes in $25, $50, $75, and $100 amounts.
For me, the order is simple:
The exact Squishmallow they want > a Squishmallows gift card > a random plush you are guessing they might like.
Are these Halloween Squishmallows okay for younger kids?
The five products in this guide are currently listed for ages 3 and up by Jazwares or on their retailer product pages.
I would still check the age recommendation on the exact item before ordering, especially if you switch to a different Squishmallows product.
The brand sells more than standard plushes, so I would not assume every Squishmallows item has the same age guidance.
Which Halloween Squishmallow should you actually buy?
If you want the quick answer:
Hello Kitty fan? Get the 12-inch Halloween Hello Kitty.
Kuromi fan? Get Kuromi.
Sleeps with plush toys? Look at Felize or Blas.
Likes collecting lots of small characters? Get the Sanrio four-pack.
You have no clue what they already own? Get the gift card instead.
And if you know almost nothing except that they like Squishmallows and you still want to give them an actual plush, Hello Kitty Halloween 2026 is my safest overall choice.
For a kid’s Halloween gift, I would worry much less about rarity or collector value. Get them a character they like in a size they will actually enjoy.
