How often do Smiski series come out?

If you are waiting for a new Smiski blind box, do not expect a release every month.

Smiski does not have a fixed release schedule. Looking at recent full series, Dreams has generally released about one or two new Smiski series a year, but the gaps are not consistent.

Personally, I think that is a good thing.

Smiski does not need a constant stream of new boxes. I would rather see one good series with six memorable poses than watch the brand push out forgettable releases every few weeks.

How often has Smiski released new series?

Recent main Smiski series show how irregular the schedule can be:

  • Smiski @Work Series: February 10, 2022
  • Smiski Dressing Series: November 10, 2022
  • Smiski Exercising Series: June 3, 2023
  • Smiski Moving Series: January 18, 2024
  • Smiski Sunday Series: March 19, 2025
  • Smiski Birthday Series: September 19, 2025
  • Smiski Construction Series: July 9, 2026

There is no clean six-month cycle hiding in those dates.

Sometimes another series arrives after seven or nine months. Other times collectors wait more than a year.

So if you are trying to predict the next Smiski release date, one or two full series per year is a better expectation than any fixed calendar.

You can check official announcements on the Smiski news page.

Not every new Smiski product is a new series

This is worth watching because Smiski can look busier than it really is.

Dreams releases plenty of Smiski products between the main blind-box series, including Hippers, straps, lights, keychains, plush items, and other accessories.

Those are new releases, but they are not necessarily a new Smiski series.

If you are waiting for a box with a completely new theme and new poses, look for an announcement for an actual Smiski Series.

For example, a new strap using an older Smiski design does not reset the clock on how long collectors have been waiting for the next main blind-box set.

I would keep that distinction in mind before assuming Smiski suddenly started releasing new series every few months.

Why I actually like the slower release schedule

Collectible brands can overdo new releases very quickly.

When every month brings another box, exclusive, color variation, collaboration, or limited edition, collecting starts to feel less like choosing things you like and more like trying to keep up.

Smiski does not really have that problem.

A slower schedule gives each theme some room to stand on its own. Work, Moving, Sunday, Museum, Yoga, and the other series do not become irrelevant just because another box appears.

And Smiski is especially suited to that.

The figures are built around poses, not whatever character happens to be trending that month. A Smiski sitting tired beside your laptop can still be funny years after it was released.

That kind of design ages better than constant novelty.

Should you wait for the next Smiski series?

No, I would not wait just because a newer series might be coming.

Smiski releases are too unpredictable for that.

If the current Smiski product lineup has a theme you genuinely like, I would buy that instead.

Moving has completely different appeal from Museum. Work is different from Yoga. Sunday does not suddenly become worse because Construction came out later.

Newer does not automatically mean better.

The pose matters much more.

That is especially true if you are only buying one or two figures instead of trying to complete every series. Pick the box where you would be happy pulling most of the regular designs.

Waiting eight months for a new series just because it has a later release date makes little sense if you already love the older poses.

Do Smiski series usually include a secret figure?

Recent regular Smiski series generally include six standard designs plus a secret figure.

For example, the official Smiski Construction Series includes six regular figures and a secret design.

The secret is part of the fun, but I would not choose a series only because I want the rare figure.

You have a much better chance of pulling one of the regular six, so those are the designs I would judge first.

If you like five out of six regular figures, that is probably a good series for you.

If you only want the secret, prepare to be disappointed or spend more than you planned.

How early does Smiski announce a new series?

Smiski does not always give collectors months of notice.

New series can be announced fairly close to launch, so there is not much point checking for rumors every week.

The official Smiski news page is the place I would trust first. Release dates can also differ by market, which means a series may reach Japan, the United States, or local retailers at slightly different times.

For most collectors, checking official Smiski news every month or two is enough.

So how long will you wait for the next Smiski series?

Probably several months, not several weeks.

Based on recent releases, one or two new main series in a year is a reasonable expectation, but Smiski does not follow a strict schedule.

And I would not want Dreams to suddenly start pumping out a new blind box every month anyway.

Part of what keeps Smiski fun is that a new full series still feels like something worth noticing.

Until the next one arrives, buy the poses you actually like. A good Smiski does not become less cute because the box says 2023 instead of 2026.
