Does LEGO have a student discount in 2026?

LEGO does offer student-specific deals through third-party verification platforms such as Student Beans, but there is not always a fixed percentage-off LEGO student discount available. As of August 2026, Student Beans US lists a LEGO offer for free shipping on orders over $35, with an additional gift promotion for qualifying purchases, rather than a permanent 10% or 20% student code. So if you are looking for a LEGO student discount code, the best approach is to check the current Student Beans offer first, then compare it with LEGO Insiders promotions and retailer sales before you buy.

Buying high-end display sets as an adult collector on a college budget requires strategic shopping. Relying on rumoured discount codes usually leads to expired checkout errors. Here is the accurate breakdown of how student discounts actually function at LEGO right now.

If you want to claim the current student deal, you must route your purchase through an approved verification portal. Here is the exact step-by-step process:

  1. Open the LEGO Student Beans page: Navigate directly to the official LEGO Student Beans portal.
  2. Sign in or create an account: Use your academic credentials to log in.
  3. Verify student status: Complete the portal verification using your official .edu email address or student portal login.
  4. View the current LEGO offer: Check the active deal terms on the landing page.
  5. Obtain the code: Click through to generate your single-use promotional link or code.
  6. Check conditions before buying: Read minimum spend requirements carefully before adding sets to your cart.

Does LEGO have a UNiDAYS student discount?

No. LEGO does not partner with UNiDAYS for student discounts.

Searching for a LEGO student discount UNiDAYS redemption link will lead to empty search results or redirected coupon landing pages. Student Beans remains the primary third-party verification partner handling LEGO student perks in major regions like the US and UK. If you only have a UNiDAYS account, you must create a Student Beans profile to access official LEGO student perks.

Can you use a LEGO student discount in LEGO Stores?

No. Official student promotional codes apply strictly to online purchases at LEGO.com.

If you prefer shopping in person, buy through LEGO online to use your student code, or use store visits exclusively to claim physical store-only gift promotions.

However, student discount codes generated through Student Beans or other third-party verification portals will not be accepted at the cash register. Brick-and-mortar stores operate under separate Point-of-Sale (POS) promotional systems, meaning online discount codes and digital gift vouchers cannot be scanned or manually processed by store associates.

Other ways students can save on LEGO

Because official student codes are often limited to gifts or shipping perks, adult builders need better methods to lower their total costs.

  • Join LEGO Insiders for free: The official LEGO Insiders program gives you 5% back in reward points on every purchase, plus access to exclusive member sales.
  • Check LEGO sales pages: The official LEGO “Sales & Offers” section regularly marks down retiring adult sets by 20% to 40%.
  • Compare major retailers: Major retailers like Amazon and Target frequently discount popular Star Wars, Icons, and Botanicals sets well below official retail prices.

If you are buying a standard set, check Amazon or Target pricing first. Major retailers frequently discount sets by 20% flat, which yields far better savings than a free shipping student code on LEGO.com.

Target occasionally offers a 20% off student discount coupon through Target Circle during its annual “Back to School” and “College Student” verification events. These promotions can be useful for students shopping for school supplies, electronics, clothing, and other essentials.

However, LEGO sets are often included in the fine-print exclusions, meaning the 20% discount may not apply to them even when the coupon appears to be sitewide. The exact exclusions can vary by promotion, so it is important to check the terms before shopping.

When Target releases a 20% student coupon, do not assume that LEGO is eligible. Always open the coupon details and review the excluded brands and products list in the Target app before adding LEGO sets to your cart. This can help you avoid building your entire order around a discount that ultimately cannot be applied.

Is there a LEGO Education student discount?

No. The LEGO Education division targets schools, teachers, and educational institutions purchasing classroom kits like SPIKE Prime in bulk.

Individual university students cannot claim academic discounts on LEGO Education products. If you are an engineering student looking for technical builds, buy standard LEGO Technic sets on sale through commercial retailers instead.

Strategic tips on saving money as a student collector

If you are placing an order on LEGO.com for an exclusive launch, use Student Beans to claim free shipping or extra gifts. However, if your main goal is lowering the cash price on standard sets, stop relying on student codes and buy from major retail sales. Stacked LEGO Insiders points combined with retail discounts will always save you more money over time.
