If I am opening a Pixie Dust Fairy Unicorno blind box, there is one obvious dream pull: Pixie Angel Fairy.
tokidoki identifies it as the series chaser with an official 1-in-48 ratio. But once we take rarity out of the equation, it is not actually my favorite figure in the box.
That would be Butterfly Fairy.
Glow Fairy is very close behind, and I would be genuinely happy with Dragon Fairy or Mushroom Fairy too. That matters because blind boxes are much more fun when more than one result feels like a win.
My ranking is not a rarity chart. tokidoki only gives an official chaser ratio for Pixie Angel. I am ranking the rest based on the design, what is actually different about the Pixie version, how much I would want it on my own shelf, and some of the reactions collectors have had to the series.
And Pixie Dust Fairy is an interesting one because not everyone loves what tokidoki did here.
What is in the Pixie Dust Fairy Unicorno series?
The official Pixie Dust Fairy Unicorno blind box is currently $16 and contains one figure measuring about 2.75 inches tall.
There are nine designs:
- Crystal Fairy
- Dragon Fairy
- Mushroom Fairy
- Flower Fairy
- Glow Fairy
- Sakura Fairy
- Butterfly Fairy
- Lucky Fairy
- Pixie Angel Fairy
Pixie Angel Fairy is the only chaser tokidoki identifies for the series, with an official chaser ratio of 1 in 48.
Glow Fairy also has one confirmed extra feature: it glows in the dark.
tokidoki recommends the figures for ages 8+ and describes them as collectible art rather than toys.
One thing newer blind-box collectors should know: 1 in 48 does not mean buying 48 boxes guarantees a Pixie Angel Fairy. It is an odds ratio, not a pity system.
Why the familiar designs are dividing collectors
This is the part I would want to know before buying several boxes.
Collectors comparing the new Pixie Dust figures with older Unicornos have noticed that many use familiar Fairy sculpts in new pastel colorways. A detailed side-by-side collector comparison links several of the new figures to older Fairy releases.
That comparison comes from collectors, not tokidoki, so I would not treat the exact sculpt history as official manufacturer documentation.
But the reaction around the set is real.
Some longtime collectors are disappointed because they wanted more brand-new designs. Others like the softer colors, collect alternate colorways anyway, or simply missed the older Fairy releases.
I am somewhere in the middle.
I do not think a recolor deserves a spot in my collection just because it is new. If I already own an older version I prefer, I am perfectly happy skipping the Pixie one.
But a few of these colorways work well enough that I would want them anyway.
1. Pixie Angel Fairy is still the dream pull

Chaser ratio: 1 in 48
If I open a $16 box and Pixie Angel comes out, obviously I am happy.
It is the chaser. It is significantly harder to pull than anything else in the lineup, and it looks special enough to deserve that position.
That last part matters to me.
If I pull a chaser, I want it to look like the chaser. Pixie Angel does. The wings and overall design have enough going on that it does not feel like a normal figure with artificial rarity attached to it.
Would I keep cracking boxes until I got one?
Absolutely not.
A 1-in-48 chase can get expensive very quickly, and there is no guarantee that box number 48 magically contains the chaser.
If Pixie Angel were the only figure I cared about, I would stop buying sealed boxes and look for an opened one from another collector.
2. Butterfly Fairy is my favorite regular

If there were no chaser in this series, Butterfly Fairy would be the one I picked off the shelf first.
The wings do most of the work for me. This figure actually looks like it belongs in a Fairy series, and the softer Pixie colors suit the sculpt.
It also seems to be one of the regulars getting genuine interest from collectors. In a discussion about the new Pixie colorways, Butterfly comes up as a figure some collectors still want even when they already own related versions.
I would not turn a few comments into “the community’s favorite.” That would be stretching it.
But it does tell me I am not the only person looking at Butterfly and thinking, yeah, I would actually want that one.
If I bought one blind box and pulled Butterfly, I could stop there and feel good about it.
3. Glow Fairy has the best extra feature

Glow Fairy has the strongest practical reason to own the Pixie version: it glows in the dark.
I like that much more than getting a figure where the only change is a slightly different shade of pink.
A glow feature gives the figure another way to stand out on display. It is something you can actually notice after the excitement of opening the box is over.
For someone who does not care about matching older and newer colorways, I could easily see Glow Fairy being the best regular in the series.
Honestly, Butterfly and Glow are almost tied for me.
Butterfly wins because I prefer the design.
Glow wins if we are judging which variant gives you the most obvious reason to own it.
4. Dragon Fairy keeps the set from getting too soft

Pixie Dust uses a lot of pastel colors, flowers, wings, and very soft designs.
I like that, but I do not necessarily want an entire shelf of it.
That is why Dragon Fairy ranks this high for me.
It breaks up the lineup a little and feels easier to mix into a broader Unicorno collection instead of only working beside the other Pixie Fairies.
This is also my test for regular blind-box figures:
If all nine were already opened in front of me, would I still choose this one?
For Dragon Fairy, yes.
I would not chase it through multiple sealed boxes, but I would definitely keep it if I pulled it.
5. Mushroom Fairy grew on me

I originally had Mushroom Fairy lower.
Then I spent more time looking at it next to the older design and changed my mind.
The Pixie colorway works.
This is where I think the “they are recolors” criticism needs a little nuance. Reusing a sculpt does not automatically make the new figure pointless. Sometimes I simply prefer the new version.
Mushroom Fairy is one of those cases for me.
I would not call it a must-have, but if I opened one, it would stay in my collection rather than immediately going into the trade pile.
What about Sakura, Lucky, Crystal, and Flower Fairy?
None of these would ruin a box for me.
They just are not the ones I would secretly be hoping for before opening it.
Sakura Fairy would probably be #6. If your collection already leans pink and pastel, you may rank it much higher than I do.
Lucky Fairy has enough detail to keep it interesting.
Crystal Fairy has a cleaner, cooler look that stands apart from some of the pinker figures.
Flower Fairy is simpler, which could actually be exactly why someone prefers it.
There is no official rarity reason to want Butterfly over Sakura or Glow over Flower.
So if Sakura is your favorite, my ranking should not talk you out of wanting Sakura.
That is the nice part about the regular lineup. You can rank them by what you actually want instead of pretending one is better because of an unpublished pull rate.
Should you buy one box or a full case?
This depends entirely on how many figures you would be happy pulling.
tokidoki says a case contains 8 blind boxes, even though the series has nine designs. It also warns that duplicates can happen and that buying a case does not guarantee a full set. Blind-box purchases are final sale.
So this is how I would buy Pixie Dust Fairy:
Buy one or two boxes if the surprise is part of the fun and you like several regulars.
Buy a case only if you genuinely want most of the lineup.
Buy an opened figure if you only want one specific design.
I definitely would not buy a full case just because I wanted Pixie Angel.
That is $128 worth of blind boxes before tax and shipping, and the case still does not guarantee the 1-in-48 chaser.
If Butterfly is the only figure you love, I would just go find Butterfly.
Blind boxes make sense when several outcomes make you happy. Once only one outcome matters, I would stop paying for the mystery.
Is Pixie Dust Fairy Unicorno worth collecting?
Yes, but I would collect this series selectively.
I do not think every Unicorno collector needs the full set.
If you already own the older Fairy designs and you are not into alternate colorways, this might be an easy series to pick through instead of complete.
If you missed the older Fairies, love pastel variants, or enjoy displaying different versions of the same sculpt together, Pixie Dust makes a lot more sense.
My personal targets are:
- Pixie Angel Fairy
- Butterfly Fairy
- Glow Fairy
- Dragon Fairy
- Mushroom Fairy
Pixie Angel is the best pull if you care about rarity.
Butterfly is the regular I actually like most.
Glow is the regular with the strongest special feature.
And if I opened one or two boxes and got any of those three, I would probably stop while I was ahead.
I like blind boxes, but I like knowing when to stop buying them too.
