What’s new in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day Funko Pop collection?

What’s new in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day Funko Pop collection?

The new Spider-Man: Brand New Day Funko Pop collection gives collectors more than another batch of Peter Parker variants. The biggest changes are Peter’s new suit, Super Hulk, Scorpion and Tombstone, plus new exclusive and oversized formats.

The current U.S. lineup has seven Brand New Day products: Spider-Man #1586, battle-damaged Spider-Man #1587, Super Hulk #1588, Metallic Spider-Man #1590, Scorpion #1628, Tombstone #1629, and a Spider-Man keychain. Funko also has an official 10-inch Jumbo Spider-Man #1589, although it is not currently included in that seven-item U.S. series filter.

What I like about this wave is the character mix. No Way Home collecting was built heavily around three Spider-Men and returning villains. Brand New Day keeps things tighter around Tom Holland’s Peter, Hulk, Scorpion, and Tombstone.

If you already have a shelf full of Spider-Man Pops, that difference matters.

Peter gets a genuinely new suit Pop

Spider-Man #1586

The obvious starting point is Spider-Man #1586.

This is Peter in the new red-and-blue Brand New Day suit, and Funko describes it as his new suit on the official Spider-Man #1586 product page.

If I were buying one Spider-Man from this wave, this would be my first pick.

It represents Brand New Day without needing an exclusive sticker, metallic finish, or oversized box. If you mainly want one Pop from the new movie, #1586 gets the job done.

Spider-Man #1587

Funko also gives us Spider-Man #1587, which keeps Peter in his battle-damaged No Way Home suit.

I like having both because they are different enough to earn separate spots on a Peter Parker shelf. #1586 gives you the clean new suit, while #1587 keeps the rougher older look.

If I only wanted one, though, I would still take the new suit first.

Metallic Spider-Man is for the variant collectors

There is also Metallic Spider-Man #1590, a Hot Topic retailer exclusive.

This one is pretty easy for me to decide on.

If you collect Spider-Man variants, retailer exclusives, or you want every Brand New Day box number, it belongs on your list. If you just want the new suit, I would stick with the regular #1586.

I would rather put the extra money toward Hulk or one of the villains before buying another finish of the same Spider-Man.

Super Hulk #1588 is one of the best additions

Super Hulk #1588

Super Hulk #1588 is probably my favorite addition after the main Spider-Man.

Funko made him a Super-sized Pop at about 5.9 inches tall instead of keeping him around the same size as Peter.

That makes sense on a shelf. Hulk should look bigger next to Spider-Man, and the larger Pop gives the lineup some actual size variation.

This is also why Hulk would come before another Peter variant for me.

If I were only picking a few Pops from the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day Funko Pop collection, Super Hulk would definitely stay.

Scorpion #1628 is the villain I would chase first

Scorpion #1628

Scorpion #1628 is one of the two major villain additions in this wave.

He is a Funko web exclusive and comes with the mechanical tail, which is the main reason I like the figure.

A lot of Spider-Man Pops have a similar overall shape once they are lined up together. Scorpion does not. The tail gives him a much more noticeable display profile and immediately separates him from Peter.

Funko currently has Scorpion #1628 listed as a U.S. pre-order with an estimated ship date of August 30, 2026.

Between Scorpion and Tombstone, this is the villain I would buy first.

Tombstone #1629 helps complete the character lineup

Tombstone #1629

Tombstone #1629 is the other major villain addition, and he is also a Funko web exclusive.

His Pop is simpler than Scorpion’s, so I probably would not rush to buy him first.

But if I were building a proper Brand New Day shelf rather than just picking individual designs I like, Tombstone would still make the collection.

Spider-Man, Hulk, Scorpion, and Tombstone give you four different characters before you even start thinking about extra Peter variants.

That is a much better starting point for me than filling half the shelf with different versions of Spider-Man.

The Jumbo Spider-Man is really about shelf space

Jumbo Spider-Man #1589

Funko also has Jumbo Spider-Man #1589, a 10-inch version of Spider-Man wearing the Brand New Day suit.

Funko has an official page for Jumbo Spider-Man #1589, although the figure is not currently included in the seven-product U.S. Brand New Day series filter.

I would skip this one unless I specifically collected Jumbo Pops or Spider-Man.

Ten-inch Pops need a lot of room, and #1586 already gives you the same main suit in the standard format.

Super Hulk makes better use of the larger size because being bigger actually suits the character. Jumbo Spider-Man feels much more optional.

Brand New Day feels more focused than No Way Home

This is the main difference I notice between the two movie collections.

The No Way Home lineup had three Spider-Men and a long list of returning villains. Funko even released an eight-figure No Way Home pack containing the three Spider-Men, Doc Ock, Electro, Green Goblin, Lizard, and Sandman.

That gave collectors a much bigger character pool right away.

Brand New Day currently feels smaller and easier to approach. You have the new-suit Spider-Man, the damaged older suit, Hulk, Scorpion, Tombstone, and then a few optional formats and variants.

I actually prefer that for a first wave.

You can build a solid movie shelf without feeling like you need a huge checklist from day one.

Which Brand New Day Pops would I buy first?

If I were collecting this wave with my own money, I would go in this order:

  1. Spider-Man #1586
  2. Super Hulk #1588
  3. Scorpion #1628
  4. Tombstone #1629
  5. Spider-Man #1587

Metallic Spider-Man and Jumbo Spider-Man would be optional for me.

That order gives me the main new suit first, then characters that actually make the shelf look more varied. I would only start chasing extra Spider-Man variants after the core lineup was already there.

If you want every current figure, variant, and box number in one place, our Spider-Man: Brand New Day Funko Pop checklist keeps the full lineup together.

And if you are ready to start hunting them down, our guide on where you can buy Funko Pops covers official retailers, specialty stores, and other places collectors usually check.

For me, the biggest improvement with this collection is simple: you can build a good Brand New Day shelf without buying Peter Parker over and over again. The new suit is there, but Hulk, Scorpion, and Tombstone are what make the wave feel different.
